Unique (ThursdayTreeLove)

Our first tree spotting car drive of the year. We did not have to go very far of Pune, and the destination was the lovely Yellow Palash or Yellow Flame of the Forest.

An elusive, very uncommon tree endemic to our region. We all know the Red Flame of the Forest or Butea monosperma. This is Butea monosperma var lutea .. both of the Fabaceae family.

As it turns out, I was late and blooming was past its full glory. I did manage to see few flowers.
